Carson City Sheriff’s Office seeks public’s help identifying fraud suspect

CARSON CITY — The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division is asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a fraud investigation.

According to a department announcement, on Dec. 9, 2025, an unknown suspect stole a purse from the 3800 block of South Carson Street. Investigators have obtained video and photos of the individual and released the images in hopes that community members can help identify him. 

In the surveillance footage, the suspect is described as wearing a brown long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and white shoes at the time of the incident. 

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact Deputy Richard Hatch with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Division, at (775) 887‑2020 ext. 45788; Carson City Dispatch non‑emergency at (775) 887‑2008; or Secret Witness at (775) 322‑4900. 

The sheriff’s office regularly seeks community assistance in ongoing investigations, emphasizing that tips from the public can be crucial in solving crimes and ensuring public safety.
